Who we are

MoonWalker farm is a small homestead located deep in the hollers of Western North Carolina. The land is crawling with history, sometimes waiting mere millimeters into the soil, echoing those that stewarded or crossed paths with the land in generations past. Word of mouth trickles in anecdotes that map out each landmark’s reason to exist. PigPen Gap, the old vineyard, the mountainside scars where tobacco harvests were hauled up and around the rocky hills. Some hearsay alludes to a cult-like ‘intentional community’ that briefly made a home out of this land.

Today, this six acre tract of land is maintained, tended to, and loved by A and H (in italics). Two raised-in-the-great-peninsula of Florida kids, now adults, that had no business buying a six acre tract of land at the end of an ill-maintained gravel road located deep in the hollers of Western North Carolina. Nearly three years at the time of this writing into the beloved ownership of this land A and H (in italics) can safely say this place is home and it shall be deemed MoonWalker Farm. Here they will build a home and family consisting of numerous species. Here they will create and share work and art. The place is a work in progress. The place itself is an ever evolving project. Hidden from road noise and run of the mill solicitors, the place is hustling and bustling despite the fact that well, almost no one lives out in these woods. At least, so we think.

What to expect

We stay busy here at MoonWalker. We currently have twenty-four chickens, two Great Pyrenees, three cats, and two hives of honey bees. We are preparing to plant our garden this spring for the coming year. We are in the early stages of our printing business. Making print slash paper goods and offering small batch print services. H is busy making his music and A is preoccupied pinning their bugs. There are garments and bags and the like to be sewn and knit. There are words to write and pictures to capture.

This website will host a taste of all these things. MoonWalker is an eclectic bunch I tend to think.
